O'CONNELL, PHIL 1919-2003. Phil O'Connell of Miramichi, NB passed away on March 2, 2003 at Gulf Port, Florida. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Phillip and Julia (Bradbury) O'Connell. Phil belonged to the Knight's of Columbus 4th Degree. Phil is survived by his wife Jean, one daughter Karen Spinney (Jeff), Fredericton; one son Conrad, Alberta; four grandchildren Carla and Bart Beunders, Fredericton, Lori and Troy Fillmore, Rexton, Ryan and Shannon, Alberta; three great grandchildren, Shamus, Shane and Conor; one sister Dorna Griffen, Glace Bay, NS, one sister-in-law Kay (Babin) Clarke, Moncton, NB. Phil was predeceased by his first wife, Rita (Babin) O'Connell and 14 brothers and sisters. Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, 33 Acadia Street, Richibucto with visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto on Monday, March 31, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Miramichi at a later date.
