EGERTON - Florence Marjorie McVicar, 84, Egerton, passed away suddenly at home on June 11, 2007. Born in Alberton, PEI, on Sept. 26, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Annie (Forsythe) Hardy and Fred Hardy. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack; daughters, Judy (Ron) Allan, Summerside; Christine (Dan) MacArthur, Trenton; son, Michael (Celyn) Welsh, Chance Harbour; step-children: Brian (Kathy) McVicar; Charles (Susan) McVicar; Molly (Hazen) Greene, all of Ont.; Alan (Kelly) McVicar, Egerton; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; cousins in PEI. She was predeceased by sister, Helen; husband, Gordon Welsh. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a true friend to many. Never to be forgotten will be the unexpected little things she would say and do and the memories of her steadfast love will keep her ever near. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 14, in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity United Church, New Glasgow with Lori Crocker, DM officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Egerton. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the St. Andrew's Cemetery Fund or the Granton SPCA.
