MCTIERNAN, JOSEPH WILLIAM The death of Joseph William McTiernan of Minto, NB, occurred Thursday, April 10th, 2003 at the Queen's North Health Complex. He was the husband of Jean (Doumont) McTiernan and son of the late William and Sarah (Monahan) McTiernan. Joe retired at 75 from the Minto Fire Department in 1999 after 65 years of service to the Minto area. He worked at the family owned McTiernan Motors Service Station until his retirement in 1995. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Karen (Don) Robertson of Ottawa, ON and Mary Ellen (Gary) Kilfillen of Woodstock, NB; One brother George (Loretta) McTiernan of Fredericton. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Maureen (Dylan) Edgar, Stephanie Best and Justin Best, Andrew and Stephen Robertson, Matthew and Sarah Kilfillen, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 2 daughters: Lynda Ritchie Fay and Maureen Best-Glenn; 3 brothers Louis, Bernard, and Frederick; 3 sisters Dorothy McTiernan, Helen McTiernan and Gertrude McDonough, one granddaughter Melanie Jo Best, one son-inlaw Robert Best. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home 327-3490 with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 PM and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday , April 14 2003 at 11 AM from the Holy Rosary Church, Minto, NB. In lieu of flowers the family requested donations to the St. Brigits Cemetery Fund or the Kidney Foundation of Canada. The family address is 80 Hill St., Minto, N.B. E4B 3N3.
