POWERS, MARY WINNIFRED The passing of Mary Winnifred Powers occurred Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton. Born in Cross Creek, York County, NB, she lived most of her life in Maugerville and Fredericton. She was a daughter of the late Henry (Harry) Thomas and Frances (Harvey) Thomas. She was a member of the Anglican Church and A.C.W., parishes of Maugerville and St. Mary's, Fredericton. She was a member of the Barker's Point Seniors Club for many years and was an avid card and bingo player. She attended the Fredericton Market with her husband George W. for many years where she sold a variety of her homemade baked goods. Surviving are sons Arnold, Fredericton and George H. and daughter-in-law Dorothy, Bedford, NS; grandchildren, Anna (Powers) Taylor of Naples, FL., Dale Powers of Sayre, PA., and William (Bill) Powers of Maugerville; great grandchildren Kevin Powers, Lisa Powers, Joseph Powers, Debbie Powers and Andrea Taylor also two great grandchildren, Anna J. and Luke; five nephews and six nieces. She was predeceased by her husband George W. and son Lloyd M. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, where visitation will be held Thursday 3:30-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 2, 2003 at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Barry Craig will officiate assisted by Rev. Paul Thompson. Interment at a later date.
