THORPE, DONALD MURRAY The passing of Donald Murray Thorpe of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, May 9, 2003 at the age of 72. Born in Fredericton, he was a son of the late William and Helen (Wandless) Thorpe. He was a retired Financial and Material Officer with the Federal Government. Anglican by faith, Donald attended St. Peter's Anglican Church, Springhill, N.B., where he was a former Boy Scout Leader with the church and a Church Warden. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Elmira (Gilman) Thorpe; four children, John (Judy) of Geary, Alan (Heather) of Summerside, Lois Thorpe (Cameron MacLeod) of Kanata, Ontario and Beth Roblin (Doug) of Pontypool, Ontario; 12 grandchildren, Karen, Pam, Murray, Adam, Samantha, Stephanie, Meaghan, Liam, Kaelen, Andrew, Scott and Joel; three brothers, Walter (Pam), Royden (Joyce) and Bill all of Fredericton; one sister, Catherine Hale of Fredericton; numerous nieces and nephews.
