HAYES, MARY ELIZABETH The death of Mary Elizabeth Hayes of Tay Creek, wife of the late John A. Hayes, occurred on Thursday, June 05, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Tay Creek, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Owens) Hayes. Mary lived most of her life in Tay Creek, where she was a member of St. Joseph's Church. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Mackin of Fredericton; her granddaughter Mary Anne Beattie (Rick) of Tay Creek; great grandchildren Jason and Michael Beattie; brothers Joseph Hayes, Louis Hayes (Leona) and Harold Hayes (Bertha) all of Tay Creek, and Leo Hayes of Windsor, ON; a sister, Evelyn Horncastle of Fredericton; sisters-in-law Eileen Hayes of Fredericton, Rose Warman of Saint John, and Ethel Hayes of Fort Fairfield, ME; a special friend and homemaker, Barbara Sparkes of Stanley; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by brothers Gerrard, Thomas, and Fred; and by sisters Josephine Crotty, Agnes Hayes, and Margaret DeLucry. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at a time to be announced from St. Joseph's Church, Tay Creek. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Kerry Hayes, David Hayes, Dana Hayes, Neil Hayes, Jonathan Hayes, and John DeLucry. A reception will be held at Kerry and Brenda Hayes' home following the graveside committal.
