COBURN, LEILA "LEI" JEANETTE The death of Leila "Lei" Jeanette Coburn of Douglas, wife of Wayne L. Coburn, occurred on Sunday, June 8, 2003 at her home. Born in Douglas, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and L. Eleanor (Watson) Hawkins. She worked as a homemaker and housekeeper. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Erin L. Coburn (Michael Goedmakers) at home, and Amanda K. M. Coburn of BC; two brothers, Blaine Hawkins (Theresa) of Lincoln and Selwyn Hawkins (Linda) of Sudbury, ON; one brother-in-law, Jim Hummelen of Vancouver, BC; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Alvin Hawkins. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Thursday, June 12 from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, June 13 at 11 am from St. Anthony's Church on Union Street with Father Monte Peters officiating. A private family interment will take place in Hawkins Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to AIDS Research, the SPCA, or to any charity of the donor 's choice would be appreciated by the family in lieu of flowers.
