MCALEER, GERTRUDE L. The death of Gertrude L. McAleer (Gertie) widow of Glendon McAleer of New Bandon, Northumberland County, NB occurred suddenly July 9, 2003 at Saint John Regional Hospital following a sudden illness. Age 69 years. Born in Blissfield, NB, daughter of the late William and Sadie (Porter) Ward. She was a homemaker and a member of Doaktown Wesleyan Church. She is survived by three daughters: Rowena O'Donnell (Elwood) Doaktown; Judy Howe (David), Fredericton; Debbie Mountain (Stephen) Grey Rapids. Two sons: Keith (Louise) Burtt's Corner; Robert (Karen) Doaktown, 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters: Maise Arbeau (Perley) Blissfield; Rita Porter (Norman) Doaktown; Carol Gilks (Glen) Blissfield; three brothers: Eddy Ward (Shirley), Bathurst; Lee Ward (Helen) Holtville; Wayne Ward (Linda) New Bandon. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Glendon McAleer in 2001, four infant children; brothers Glen and Dean Ward. Mrs. Gertie McAleer is resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, Doaktown, NB with visiting Wednesday 7-9 and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 from where the funeral service will be held Friday 2 p.m. from Davidson's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Pat Cook officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot of Doaktown Wesleyan Cemetery.
