MARVEN PRATT REICKER

REICKER, MARVEN PRATT Of Cambridge Narrows, son of the late Farris and Minnie (Durost) Reicker. After a long Courageous battle with Cancer passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, July 26th, 2003 at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife Evelyn, one son Wayne (Desneiges) of Hampton, one stepson, G. Lester (Linda) Coyle of Tantallon, NS. Two stepdaughters, Helen Jennings of Pickering, Ont. And Doreen (David) Hansen of Cambridge Narrows, one sister, Eileen (Maurice) Wetmore of Fredericton, two brothers, Everett of Fredericton and Vernon of Toronto, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Born in Saint John, Marvin was employed by City- Works Dept. for 20 years, until moving to Cambridge Narrows in 1979, where he and his wife operated Marvelyn Park Campground, retiring in 1989. Marven served overseas for 6 years in the army Service Corps of the Canadian Forces and was in Niemegan, Holland when the war ended. He was a member of the Narrows United Church, a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, being past President of both, Branch # 14 in Saint John and Branch # 60 at Waterborough. He was also a member of # 13 Corinthian Lodge at Hampton, Past President of Washademoak Seniors Club and Past Treasurer of Cambridge Narrows Volunteer Fire Dept. Prior to his illness, his winters were spent in St. Augustine, Florida. Marven was predeceased by his daughter, Sharon and a brother Robert. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John NB. (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, July 28th, 2003 from 3 pm until 8 pm. With a Legion Tribute being held at 7 pm and a Masonic Tribute at 7:30 pm. Following Visitations, Cremation will take place and a Legion Service in Conjuction with a Memorial Service will be held at the "Narrows United Church" on Tuesday July 29th, 2003 at 2 pm. There will be a private interment at Cedar Hill Extension in the Field of Honor at a later date. Only Family flowers by request please.
