SPURLES, DOUGLAS HAROLD Douglas Harold Spurles of Fredericton, husband of Patricia K. (Phee) Spurles, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Mr. Spurles was formerly employed at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. He was a member of Branch # 4 of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Heart Support Group, and St. Anthony's Parish. Doug enjoyed mechanical things, especially older cars, camping, and was very interested in history. In addition to his wife of 49 years, Doug is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Spurles of New York; his sons, Alphee Spurles of Toronto and Ronald Kelly-Spurles (Patricia) of Dorchester Cape; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM from St. Anthony's Church, Union Street. Rev. Monte Peters will be the Celebrant. Interment will take place privately in St. Anthony's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
