STONE, IRENE MYRTLE The death of Irene Myrtle Stone of Fredericton, wife of the late Vigers J. (Duke) Stone, occurred on Sunday, August 3, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Plaster Rock, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruby (Allen) Wharton. She is survived by her children, Muriel Wilkins of Fredericton, Louise Kitchen (Roy) of Fredericton, Joan MacPherson-Bell of Estey's Bridge, Jean McFarlane (Dave) of Fredericton, and William Stone (Beverley) of Dumfries; a brother, James Wharton of St. Stephen; a sister, Yvonne Beaudet (Joseph) of Benton; a sister-in-law, Mabel Nason (Ralph) of Fredericton; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by sons-in-law Merle Bell and Fred Wilkins; an infant brother, Jasper; and by sisters Florence Goodine, Phyllis Hazlett, Ruby Orser, Mavis Williams, and Edna Green. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North. Rev. William MacMullin will officiate. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
