EGERS, OSCAR CARL The death of Oscar Carl Egers of Chipman, N.B. occurred Monday, August 4, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Chipman, N.B., he was the son of the late Howard and Olive (Mowatt) Egers. Well known for his love of the fiddle, he was inducted into the Minto Country Music Wall of Fame on September 22, 2001. Oscar is survived and will be sadly missed by his loving wife (Connie) Constance (Curley) Egers and son Byard Egers of Chipman; daughter, Elizabeth (Betty) Parker of Woodstock; grandchildren, Gena Curtis, Stewart Egers, Shayne Dodge and Diane Parker; great grandchildren, Ryan Curtis and Keira Parker; brother, (Billy) William Egers (Thelma) of Minto and sister Evelyn Patterson (Brian) of Dipper Harbour, N.B.; one niece and four nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two daughters, Mary Winnifred and Heather; a son Barry and a sister Mary Egers. Resting at the United Pentecostal Church, Main Street, Chipman where visitation will take place Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and from where the funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, August 7, 2003 with Rev. Ron Cole officiating assisted by Rev. James McLaughlin. Interment will follow in the United Baptist Cemetery, Chipman, N.B. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of ones choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Minto Funeral Home, 327-3490.
