WILLIAM JAMES McKAY

McKAY, WILLIAM JAMES William James McKay, 88, passed away peacefully at his home, 68 Pine Street, Pictou, on August 10, 2003. Born in Fredericton, NB. He was a son of the late Rankin and Georgina McKay. He was a Veteran of the Second World War. He was a flight sergeant with the Canadian Air Force, having served in England for a number of years. Bill was given the honour of being an Honour Guard for the Queen's Canadian Train Tour early in the 1950's. He was extremely proud of this honour. He had lived for many years in British Columbia with his devoted wife, Eleanor, who passed away just recently in November, 2002. They had retired to Pictou in 1986, and were a couple truly devoted to each other. He is survived by sister, Mary O'Leary, Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Otis Robert McKay; sister Jenny Parker. Bill who was lovingly known to many of his nieces and nephews as "Uncle Babe", will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by many who knew him, friends and family alike. Bill will always be remembered for his kind generosity and his quick wit. God Bless you Uncle Bill, you are where you want to be.
