Gwendolyn “Gwen” Druhan, 81, Highcrest Manor, New Glasgow, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow after a lengthy illness. Born in P.E.I., she was a daughter of the late John and Catherine (MacPhee) Larkin. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton. Gwen was a Personal Care Worker at Glen Haven Manor for several years before retirement. Her quick wit and ability for a good laugh will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by sons, Bryan, Riverton; Paul (Paula), North Sydney, and her daughter Bonnie, Halifax; grandchildren: Alison and Andrew; Anthony and Dawn Michelle; Ross and Amanda; and great-grandson, Kevin. She is also survived by brothers, Desmond Larkin, P.E.I., and Wentzel Larkin, Mass; and sister, Eileen Kingsbury, New York. Gwen was predeceased by brothers, A.J. and Paul, and sister, Muriel Larkin. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes, Roman Catholic Church at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. Services are under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville.
