Gwynneth "Gwen" Muriel Dickie, 72, Stewiacke passed away January 18, 2009, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. She was the daughter of the late Melvin (Mel) and Frances (Miller) Ackles. Gwen worked at Crossley Carpets in Truro for over 20 years. She loved bowling, playing cards, bingo and going to yard sales with Avis. Always a loyal Blue Jays fan, she seldom missed watching a game. She is survived by her husband, Howard; son, Michael, Stewiacke; daughter, Wendy (Leo) Guyette, Woodstock, N.B.; six grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bertha Ackles, Waverly. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice. Special thanks to the VON, the home care workers who helped with Gwen's care while she was at home and the nurses at Colchester Regional Hospital.
