PETERSON, ALMA JOAN The death of Alma Joan Peterson of New Maryland, wife of the late Reginald E. Peterson, occurred in Sussex, NB on Sunday August 31, 2003. Born in McGivney on August 2, 1935, Joan was the daughter of the late Sterling and G. Irene (Astle) Cowie. She is survived by two sons, Timothy Peterson of New Maryland, Donald Peterson (Elizabeth) of Lincoln; three daughters Heather, Janet, Dora Peterson all of New Maryland; two grandchildren Michael and Serena; two brothers Hedley Cowie (Edith) of Nashwaak Bridge, Neil Cowie (Donna) of Centerville, Mass; three sisters, Barbara Munn (Fred) of Saint John, Gladys Munn (Laurie) of Nashwaak Bridge, Rena Neales (Richard) of Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant daughter; and by a brother, Ross. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Monday September 1, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel. Rev. Roger Richardson will officiate. Internment will be at the McGiviney Community Cemetery.
