HAMILTON, ONT. – Harriet Margaret Matthews passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital, on September 28, 2008, in Hamilton, Ontario. Born in 1918 in New Glasgow to John Falconer MacDonald and Cristena Cameron Fraser, Harriet was the last of her immediate family. Harriet is survived by grandson, Harold Simons; daughter, Mertice Clark; son-in-law, Jeff Galef, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters: Bessie, Marion, Helen and Jean; brothers: Samuel, James, Charles, John, Alexander, and Geddis; son, Harold Matthews, Jr., and husband, Harold Matthews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hamilton General Hospital for their kind attentiveness. At the request of the deceased, cremation will take place with private interment to follow at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario.
