BURTIS RUSSELL MCLEAN
MCLEAN, BURTIS RUSSELL Burtis Russell McLean, of Cumberland Point, passed away at the Oromocto Hospital on September 23, 2003. Born on September 29, 1914, he was the son of Bartlett and Violet (Granville) McLean. He was the husband of the late Roberta (Gilchrist) McLean. Burtis was a lifelong farmer who loved Grand Lake. He's best remembered for his strawberries, hunting adventures and the telling of great stories. Burtis is survived by his daughter, Lynne McKenelley (Al Farrer), Fredericton; three sons, Robert (Carol McCoy), Bartlett and Reid McLean, all of Cumberland Point; granddaughter, Gina McKenelley, Vancouver, BC; three grandsons, Corey McKenelley, Toronto, ON, Josh McLean, Fredericton, Jeremy McLean, Truro, NS. He is also survived by his brother Don McLean (Margaret), Pointe Claire, QC, along with brother-inlaw Earl Gilchrist (Elsbeth), Fredericton, sisters-in-law Imogene Gilchrist, McDonalds Corner, and Helen Gilchrist, Fredericton, as well as several nieces and nephews. Burtis is sadly missed by Rodeo, his favourite Golden Retriever. Besides his parents and wife, Burtis was predeceased by an infant brother, Norman, and infant sister Evelyn. Visitatation will be at the Chipman Funeral Home, Chipman, NB, on Wednesday, September 24, from 7-9 p.m. The memorial service will be held at the Chipman Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Scott Hoyt officiating. Pallbearers are Malcolm Gilchrist, William Beam, Tom Rogers, Reg Slocum, Mike Reese and Derek Reese. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
