TRURO – Hazel Josephine Allan, passed away September 3rd, 2008, in Wynn Park Villa, Truro, NS, at the age of 99. Born in Truemanville, Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. and Lydia (Oxley) Fisher. She is survived by her son, Gregory (Sheila) Truro; grandchildren, Heather and Brian and great-grandchild, Vaughn. She was predeceased by her husband, George Layton Allen; and brothers: Aubrey, Layton and Fred. She was a resident of New Glasgow, NS for most of her adult life where she worked as secretary for Eastern Woodworkers Ltd. She was a member of Trinity United Church and a life member of UCW. She was also a life member of WCTU. Cremation has taken place under the care of H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held in Trinity St. Stephen United Church, Amherst on Sunday, September 7th at 2:30 p.m. with interment in Highland View Cemetery.
