JOHNSTON, PHYLLIS AUDREY (BIRD) The death of Phyllis Audrey (Bird) Johnston, widow of Floyd H. Johnston, occurred on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was 82. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Rettie (Brewer) Bird. Phyllis had many careers, but most enjoyed her "retirement" years when she and her husband had a stall at the Boyce Farmers Market. Phyllis is survived by her daughter Patricia Johnston, Fredericton, brother Carl Bird, Fredericton; half-sisters Geraldine (Winston) Mount, Brockville, ON, Carlene (John) Tranquilla, Fredericton, Gloria (Robert) Dickinson, Kirkland, PQ; step-brothers, Charles (Madeline) Bird, Prince George, BC, Roland (Ethel) Bird, Burlington, ON and step-sisters Mildred Hansen, Burtts Corner, NB and Nelda (Ron) Targett, Fredericton, and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Christ Church (Parish) Church with The Ven. John Sharpe officiating and Rev. Elaine Hamilton assisting. Interment will take place in the Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton North. Donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
