ISABELLE C. (RN) MATCHETT

MATCHETT, ISABELLE C. (RN) Isabelle C. Matchett, RN, born to the late James "Frank" Clark and Dora (De Merchant) passed away peacefully on October 4, 2003 at The Halifax Berkley after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Catherine Lynn Matchett of South Lake, Texas, son Beverly Victor Matchett of Arlington, Texas, grandchildren Amy and Ian Matchett of Texas, Tyler and Kayla Matchett of Michigan, special nephews Stanley Klyza, Texas and Clark Klyza, California who grew up in the Matchett home, and sister Avis Baker of Victoria, BC, brother George Clark of Winnipeg, Manitoba and many nieces and nephews. Isabelle had an active life with many interests. As a resident of Dover, NH for 25 year she founded The Dover Children's Aid Society, and was a long term Member of the First Parish Congregational Church. When Isabelle, took up residence in Halifax in the late 1970's she became involved in the community as Friends of Halifax, VON Past President, Community Contact for the Widowed, President Pro Temp 1979-1980, Halifax/Dartmouth United Empire Chairwoman, Spencer House Friendly Visiting Volunteer and a Member of the St. Andrews Church (Coburg and Robie). Isabelle was predeceased by her husband Dr. Beverly Matchett, sisters Eleanor Klyza and Ardath Chaffey, and brothers, J. Frank "Junior" Clark, Merton Clark and Richard Clark. No visitation, by request, cremation has taken place under the direction of Cruikshanks Funeral Home, 2032 Robie Street, Halifax, NS. A graveside service will take place Saturday October 18, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the Miramichi Cemetery, Miramichi City, NB. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of ones choice.
