DORCAS, ARTHUR ELMER The death of Arthur E. Dorcas of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Veteran's Health Unit on Saturday, October 11th, 2003. Born in Williamsburg, NB he was the son of the late William and Margaret Dorcas and husband of Norah (McAleer) Dorcus. Arthur served in the RCAF and the RAF overseas in WWII as a Corporal. After his retirement from Gulf Canada, he and Norah traveled world wide making many friends on their trips. In January of 2003 they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Survived by his wife Norah of Fredericton, NB, one son, Ronald (Lynn) of Aurora, ON and one daughter, Virginia Melnyk (John) of Oakville, ON; three grandchildren, Brandon, Ashlyn and Reid, one great grandson, Pierce; two sisters, Evelyn Gorman of Rothesay, NB and Della Gorman of Fredericton, NB. He was predeceased by his parents; five brothers, Amos, Douglas, James, Clare and Frank; six sisters, Isabel, Jenny, Sarah, Jessie, Margaret and Annie. Visiataion will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 14th, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held at Saint Mary's Anglican Church on Wednesday, October 15th, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Rev. John Cathcart will officiate. The Fredericton Legion Branch # 4 will hold a tribute service at Saint Mary's Anglican Church on Wednesday at the conclusion of the memorial service. Interment will follow in Sunnybank Cemetery.
