ALLEN, WO TREVOR "TRAPPER", MM, CD The death of WO Trevor "Trapper" Allen MM, CD of Oromocto, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospial on Friday, October 17th, 2003. Born in England he was the son of the late William and Jane (Hannah) Allen; the husband of Margaret (Noiles) Allen. Trapper Allen retired in 1972 after 27 years in the military having served in England, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Korea, Cyprus, Egypt, Wainwright, Calgary, Winnipeg, Saint John, Halifax and Baffin Island. He was mentioned in the Kings Dispatched for distinguished service. Trapper has been involved with recovery on different occasions. In Korea, he was doing recovery on the Sherman ARV and received the medal of Military Merit. He was first introduced to the Centurion ARV while serving with the LDSH (RC) in Calgary. He retired as the WO ETQMS for 2 Field Engineers in Gagetown in 1972 but remained working as a VHE 09 at Base Maintenance Gagetown until he retired fully in 1987. Trapper took special pride in helping the military active and retired in their dealings with Veteran Affairs even after retiring. Survived by his wife Margaret, one daughter, Gloria Ann Caravan Draper and grandson Trevor Caravan both of Vancouver, BC four sisters, Viola Gantert of Boston, Iris Noiles of Amherst, Maple McLean (Neil) of New Waterford, Lena Herritt (David) of Springhill; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, October 20th, from 2-4 and 79 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will he held at St Luke's Chapel on Base on Tuesday, October 21st, at 2:00pm Rev. Derrick Marshall will officiate. A reception will follow.
