In his 91st year passed on December 2nd, 2008, at Maritime Odd Fellows Continuing Care Centre in Pictou. He lived in Thorburn all of his life. Most of his working life was spent at the McBean coal mine and, later, Michelin. He was a long-standing member of the Union Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge. Beloved father of Vivian (Gavin) and Debbie (Ron). Cherished grandfather of Jason, Daniel, Jillian, Adam and Jimmie. As well, he leaves behind his dear brother, Clifford (Isabel); nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Myrtle; and daughter, Marilyn. Thank you to Dr. R. Burrell and the entire staff at the Maritime Odd Fellows Continuing Care Centre in Pictou who were so wonderful to him and his family during the past decade. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the H. W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday from Union Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Interment will be in the Thorburn Cemetery. Flowers, or a donation made in his memory to the Maritime Odd Fellows Continuing Care Centre, Pictou, or Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn, will be gratefully appreciated.
