GAINES, HORACE VICTOR Victor Gaines, age 91, died November 11, 2003 at the W. G. Bishop Nursing Home, Minto, NB. Born in Aroostook, NB he was the son of the late Charles and Myrtle (Dunn) Gaines. Victor is survived by his wife Glenna (Harris); daughter Harriet Rutledge (Glen) of Fredericton; son, Leonard Gaines (Gerene) of Fredericton; grandsons, William and Michael Gaines and Andrew and Matthew Rutledge; his sister, Alice Laughlin of St. Stephen and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Chellis and Charles and sister, Dorothy Grant. Victor operated a garage and store in Aroostook for many years. Later, he worked for the Maine-NB Electric Power Co. at Tinker, NB. Glenna and Victor later moved to New Maryland, NB. Victor was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed many hobbies and traveled widely. He was admired for his helpfulness and great patience. He had been a member of the Faith Baptist Church in New Maryland. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 15th, 2003 at 2:00 pm, with burial at a later date in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Andover, NB.
