TRIFTS, ALBERT GALE Albert G.Trifts of Young's Cove, NB, in his 87th year, passed away peacefully in the presence of family at the Moncton Hospital on November 23, 2003 after a courageous battle with leukemia and Parkinson's Disease. Born in Young's Cove on March 13, 1917, the son of the late Walter and Nellie (Gale) Trifts. He was a Second World War veteran. During his life he was employed in road construction for many summers as grade foreman and in the winter he worked as a CPR trucker. His favorite employment was the time he spent as a woodsman. He and his wife operated Trift's Grocery in Young's Cove until 1991. He was an avid hunter, gardener and outdoorsman. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years Gertie (Ripley); four children, Betty (Ron) Hooper of Petitcodiac, Dr. Robert (Celine) of Bass River, Dr. Jack (Jan) of Portland, ME and Pat (Ken) Margeson of Moncton; nine grandchildren, Margo, Jan and Ron Hooper, Rob, Jon and Ben Trifts, Alyssa, Stephanie and Bradley Margeson, as well as five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his only sister Lil Reese. Following cremation, a funeral service will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Young's Cove on Wednesday, November 26 at 11 a.m. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. At Albert's request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A reception will follow the funeral service. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Chipman Funeral Home. Phone: (339-6612).
