HAYES, JOSEPH JASON Joe Hayes passed away December 1, 2003 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Shigawake, Québec, he was the son of the late Henrietta (Carson) and Almond Hayes. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Hayes (Banks). Joseph Hayes was a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces and served in the Royal Regiment of the Canadian Artillery from 1954-1976. Joe worked hard his entire life and will be fondly remember for his kind and gentle spirit. He is survived by two brothers; Elton Hayes and Lorne Hayes, his seven children; Carla Ross, Diane Campbell, Jason Hayes, Janice MacDougall, John Hayes, Shirley Carnahan and Tammy Bilodeau, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and countless friends. Resting at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street with visitation on Thursday, December 4th, 2003 from 24 and 7-9 pm with a tribute service being held by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 on Thursday at 7:00 pm. A memorial service will take place on Friday, December 5th, 2003 at 2:00 pm at Christ Church Cathedral, corner of Brunswick and Church Street, Fredericton, NB. Dean Keith Joyce officiating. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 on the Restigouche Road in Oromocto. Interment will be held in Shigawake, Quebec on Sunday, December 7th, 2003.
