WESTVILLE – Isabel Victoria Wadden, age 95, Greenwood Street, Westville, Pictou County, passed away at her home following a period of failing health on Thursday, September 27, 2008. Born in Westville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Slater. Leaving to mourn her passing is Struan, her loving husband of 68 years. She is also survived by a brother, Garfield Slater, New Glasgow/Pictou. She was predeceased by a sister, Ellen. Isabel was a homemaker, making a home in Westville as well as at their cottage on Sinclair’s Island where all family and friends were welcomed with a pleasing smile, a cup of tea, and sweets. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Westville, and a member of the Crystal Fountain Rebekah Lodge for seventy years. She will be remembered with love by her several nieces and nephews. A special thank you is extended to all those who so lovingly cared for Isabel when she became unable to do so for herself; your kindness will always be remembered by Struan and his extended family. Visitations will be held at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The Crystal Fountain Rebekah Lodge will conduct a service at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held from the Eagles Funeral Chapel on Sunday at 2 o’clock with Rev. Doug Pilsworth officiating. Interment will follow at the Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to her memory may be made to the St. Paul United Church, Westville, or a charity of your choice.
