JACK MAURICE PYNE
PYNE, JACK MAURICE The death of Jack Maurice Pyne of Fredericton occurred on Friday, December 19, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Chipman, he was the son of the late Emmerson and Isabel (Stillwell) Pyne. Jack worked for the Hartt Shoe Factory for 32 years, and retired from the City of Fredericton Roads and Streets Department. He was a Charter Member of the Nashwaaksis Y's Men Club, and was an avid sportsman, being Fredericton's Sportsman of the Year in 1948. He enjoyed darts, hockey, and baseball. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Jack is survived by a daughter, Wendy Hovey (Roger) of Fredericton and son, Michael Pyne (friend Pam) of Fredericton and their mother Kathleen (Dunphy) Pyne, and son Greg Pyne (Tracy) of Oromocto and his mother Lucy Diane (Fullarton) Pyne; five grandchildren, Krystal and Cody Pyne, Marshall and Austin Hovey; and Kale Pyne; and several nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by brothers Burton, Hayward, and Ralph; and by a sister, Betty Donahee. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Monday December 22 from 7-9 PM and Tuesday December 23 from 2-4 and 79 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 30, 2003 at 2 PM from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel. Rev. Brian MacDonald will officiate, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at a later date in the Douglas Rural Cemetery. The honorary pallbearers will be Elbridge Wilkins, Albert Banks, Frank McFadgen, Edison Phillips, and Cedric Stewart. For those who wish, remembrances to the A.L.S Society, the Canadian Red Cross or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank special friends Amy, Albert, Cody, Barb and Pearl for all the loving care they provided. The family would also like to extend thanks to the Extra Mural Program, Brunswick Home Care, the Canadian Red Cross and the A.L.S.
