E. FAY ELDER
ELDER, E. FAY The death of E. Fay Elder of Fredericton, wife of the late Archie G. "Pete" Elder, occurred on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Saskatchewan, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Mary D. (McDonald) McGonigal. Fay worked as a book binder in Calgary, before moving to Fredericton with her husband in 1971. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Fay is survived by a son, Robert Grieve of Surrey, British Columbia; two sisters, Mildred Evenson (Sig) of Arizona, and Jean Detlor of Kelowna, BC; two brothers, Donald McGonigal of Surrey, BC and Dale McGonigal of Nanaimo, BC; 2 grandchildren, Kelly and Amber; two great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Hogg (James) of Grand Bay-Westfield and Shirley McGonigal (widow of Robert McGonigal) of British Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Fay was predeceased by sisters Phyllis English and Fern McGonigal; and by brothers James McGonigal (Shirley), Keith McGonigal, and Robert McGonigal. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held on Friday, January 2, 2004 at 2:00 PM from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North. Rev. Gary Cowper will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Marysville Baptist Cemetery. Honourary Pallbearers for the service are Bert Rogers, Ralph Runtz, Sewell Chase, Ken Chase, and Don Johnson.
