SMITH, MARY GEORGIA After a lengthy illness, Mary Georgia Smith (nee Kelly), died January 4, 2004 at the age of 67 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She is survived by three daughters, Jill Blair (Dale), Kelly Smith and Kathryn Dyer (Ricky), all of McAdam; a son, Robin Smith of St. Stephen; eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Jerome, two sons, Peter and Patrick, one grandson, Jacob Smith and her parents, Leonard and Margaret (Miller) Kelly. Mary was born in Woostock and raised in Lower Southampton. Upon graduating from high school she studied nursing at the Victoria Public Hospital. She worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years and became affectionately known as Dr. Mary by the many patients she tended to with compassion and love over the years. When in good health, Mary lived life to the fullest. She was at her happiest trekking through the woods searching for fiddleheads, dancing up a storm or immersing herself in a good book. Mary (also known by some as Kelly), was a wonderful person who will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Visiting hours will be held at St. Paul's United Church of Canada, McAdam on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the church on Tuesday, January 6, 2003 at 2 p.m. Rev. Ellen Beairsto officiating. Interment will be later at Harvey Settlement Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Mary, the family has suggested a charity of the donor's choice. Pallbearers will be Kimberly Moffitt, Darren Shaw, Troy Lunn, Michael Folland, Wayne Smith and Robbie Carmichael.
