WEST BRANCH – James MacKenzie Rae, of West Branch, Pictou County, passed away in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on September 24, 2008. Jim was born in West Branch, River John, to the late Warren and Christena (MacKenzie) Rae. He lived all his life at West Branch before moving to High Crest Home, New Glasgow in 2004. Jim is survived by his wife, Helen (Henderson), Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou; son, Eldon (Norma), Westville; daughter, Carol (Sam) VanderKloet, Wolfville; grandchildren: Angela, Adam Rae, Julie, Peter VanderKloet; brothers, Alex, Cobourg, Ont.; Milton, Fall River; and sister, Jessie Baker, Mahone Bay. He was predeceased by brother, Hugh. Visitation was held Friday at MacLeod’s Funeral Home, River John. Funeral service will be held today (Sat., Sept. 27) at 3 p.m. from West Branch United Church with Rev. Dr. Kenneth MacLeod officiating, assisted by Rev. Donald Sutherland. Burial to follow in West Branch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the West Branch Cemetery would be appreciated.
