UNIONVILLE (formerly of Sunny Brae) – Jean E. MacDonald, 85, passed away peacefully into God’s care, August 24th, 2008, in Unionville, Ontario. Born in Sunny Brae, Pictou Co., she was a daughter of the late Donald M. and Mary (Thompson) MacDonald. After attending Normal College she was a school teacher in Pictou Co. She then moved to Halifax where she attended Dalhousie University, and then for many years taught school in Halifax. On retirement, in 1972, she moved to Ontario to care for a widowed aunt and in 1988 Jean moved into Bethany Manor in Unionville where she resided until her death. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret (Watson); brothers, Harold and Cecil. She will be greatly missed by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Truro); several cousins, and her many nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held August 27th, 2008 at the Unionville Gospel Hall with interment in Cedar Grove Mennonite Cemetery in Markham, Ontario.
