CHARLES G. FINNIE

FINNIE, CHARLES G. The death of Charles Finnie of Scotch Lake, NB, occurred on February 2, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Fredericton, October 1934, Charles was a longtime member of the Canadian Forces having served with NATO in Europe, United Nations Emergency Force, Egypt and numberous locations in Canada and the USA. Charlie was a well known and respected member of the Royal Canadian Signal Corp, having retired with the rank of Captain. He will be sadly missed by his many SIGS Comrades. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch #4, Fredericton. He is survived by a son Lynton Finnie of Scotch Lake; step-son Allan Ingraham (Juanita), daughter-in-law Kelly Finnie; grandchildren; brothers Robert (Bonnie), Stanley (Shirley), Donald, John (Shirley), Gerald (Elizabeth); sisters Margaret and Carol; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Myrtle (Ingraham); son Gary; parents Lynton and Olive (McArthur) Finnie; sister Mary (Grey); brother Irvine. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, where visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roger Urquhart officiating. Interment at a later date. As an expression of sympathy a donation to Hope Community Church or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
