AUDREY ELIZABETH LONG
LONG, AUDREY ELIZABETH Audrey Elizabeth Long, 90 of Truro, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2004, in Sandi's Nursing Home, Truro. Born in Gagetown, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Captain Frederick L. and Adella Maude (Erb) Robinson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a graduate of the New Brunswick Normal School. She taught school in Plaster Rock, N.B., Whirl, N.B., Gagetown and Marysville, N.B. She was a member of the Marysville United Church, Marysville, N.B. and also a member of the Valley United Church, Valley, Col. Co., N.S. She served as an elder and was also on the Board of Managers of Marysville United Church, Marysville, N.B. for several years. Audrey was very active in Community Affairs. She served as a member of the Marysville School Board and was involved in establishing the Marysville School Library. She was also active as a Returning Officer for several elections. Audrey was a former member of the Fredericton Curling Club and a former member of the I.O.D.E. in Marysville, N.B. She enjoyed her cottage life at Robertson's Point for over 35 years. She is survived by daughters Jody (Wil) Sutherland of Truro, Marjorie Fisher of Belleville, Ontario; son Percy (Dorothy) Long of Valley, Col. Co; six grandchildren, Jeffrey,Gregory, Michael, Catherine, Mark, Eric; two great grandchildren Emma, Charlotte; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph Frederick Long; brother Ray; sisters, Gladys, Doris, Roberta, Marjorie, Ruth, Grace. Visitation will be 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening and funeral service will be held Wednesday a 2 p.m. both in the Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro. Rev. Brian DeLong will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Spring interment and memorial service will be held at a later date in Marysville United Church, Marysville, N.B.
