Joan Brammer Fraser

Born: June 27th, 1922

Joan Brammer Fraser, was born June 27, 1922 in Macclesfield, England. She was united in marriage to Willard S. Fraser on June 2, 1946, at Witley, England. They moved to Kirkwood, Missouri in January, 1960. Joan was employed at Kirkwood High School from 1965 to 1984. She volunteered for the Red Cross during WWII and then for many years in St. Louis at the County Hospital; she taught Sunday School, volunteered with the Boy and Girl Scouts, and was active in the Ladies Aid for the Little Harbour Presbyterian Church. Following their retirement, Joan and Willard spent their summers in Kings Head. Joan passed away on June 6, 2008. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Barry Fraser; sister, Winifred Ridlington; and parents, Sydney and Constance Brammer. She is survived by her husband, Willard; children: Bruce, his wife Norma, Judith, her husband Roger, and Paul; grandchildren: Jacob Fraser, his wife Corri Flaker, Annie Fraser, Evan Webster, and Joshua Fraser; brother, George Brammer, his wife Ann; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on July 22, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at the Little Harbour Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either Union Centre Pioneer Cemetery, c/o Duncan Fraser, RR#2, Pictou, NS B0K 1H0, or Gray Road Cemetery, c/o Maria Veenhuis, RR#2, Westville, NS, B0K 2A0. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service, with a private family interment following at the Gray Road Cemetery.
