MORRIS, JEAN E. 1904-2004 Miramichi - Mrs. Jean Ellen Morris, widow of the late Clyde Morris, of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home, and formerly of Queen Street, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at the age of 99. Born in Douglastown, on August 9, 1904, she was the daughter of the late David J. and Elizabeth A. (Anderson) Gulliver. She was a homemaker and a retired R.N. by profession and was employed at hospitals in Newcastle, Boston, Mass, USA and St. Catherines, Ont. She was a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi; a former member of the church choir (50 Years); a life member of the U.C.W. (Edith Bell Unit); a charter member of the Prince Charles Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; a founding member of the Miramichi Music Festival; a member of the Miramichi Chapter, I.O.D.E.; a member of the Miramichi Retired Nurses Association; a former member of the Chatham Curling Club; a member of the Canadian Red Cross. She is survived by two sons, David V. Morris (Claire), of Moncton, and C. William Morris (Dale), of Fredericton; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one niece, Gwen Sears (Ernest), of Sackville. She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde, in 1978; one sister, Edith Gulliver; two brothers David and Clyde Gulliver. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visiting will be held from Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, Miramichi, on Thursday only, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, Wellington Street, Miramichi, on Friday, April 2, 2004, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations of sympathy, donations to St. Andrews United Church, the I.W.K. Hospital, or any charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
