RONALD ALEXANDER GOODINE
GOODINE, RONALD ALEXANDER It is with sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Alexander Goodine, April 2, 2004, after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Angela (Foley) Goodine and Alexander Goodine, and husband of the late Jean Evelyn (Irvine) Goodine. A resident of Fredericton, Ron was employed by the Department of National Defence, Government of Canada, for thirty-five years. He was a long standing and active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, Fredericton. He was a well-known local musician and was inducted into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame as a member of the group Earl Mitton and the Valley Rhythm Boys. Ron had many interests and hobbies, including music, conducting extensive research on his family's history, and a love of the great outdoors. Ron resided at York Manor Nursing Home for the past two years. Survived by his five children, Deborah (George) Jeffery of Fredericton, Constance (Robert) Rombough of Canmore, AB, Gerald (Yumi) Goodine of Toronto, David Goodine of Toronto and Joanne (Ross) Phinney; seven grandchildren, Ria and Arielle Rombough, Sam Jeffery, Hallie Tennent-Goodine, Evan, Adrian, and Allyson Phinney. Visitation will be held at McAdam Select Community Funeral Home on Saturday, April 3rd, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Monday, April 5th, 2004 at 11:00 am. Rev. John Malasi Ighocho as celebrant. Interment will be St. Anthony's Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the York Manor Nursing Home or the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra or Royal Canadian Branch # 4 Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family. www.mcadamsfh.com
