MacFARLANE, DANIEL BRUCE The death of Daniel Bruce MacFarlane born September 3, 1951 in Fredericton, New Brunswick occurred unexpectedly April 5, 2004 at his home in Westerose, Alberta. Dan will never be forgotten by his loving family; wife, Lynn; daughters, Danya and Aislyn; granddaughter, Justyce; brothers and sisters, Lynn (Dave) Thornton, Stephen MacFarlane, Marjorie (George) Novak, and Robert (Geri) MacFarlane as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Dan was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Mary MacFarlane. A celebration of the life of Dan MacFarlane was held at Louis Bull School, Hobbema, Alberta on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at 2 p.m. The service was officiated by Dave Thornton and Honorary Pallbearers were Dave Thornton, George Novak, Keith Baxter, Charles Levy, Kirk Whittaker, Michael MacFarlane, Tyson Novak, Jordan Novak, Richard Thornton and all those who knew and loved Dan. Family and friends were honoured with elements of traditional Cree service delivered by Elder Dale Awasis, a friend and colleague at Louis Bull School. Teachers and students at both Ermineskin and Louis Bull Schools where Dan taught expressed their condolences to the family.
