Chislett, James Wesley, age 86, of Fifth St., Trenton, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Trenton, he was a son of the late James Charles and Jessie Suzannah (Jones) Chislett. He was a retired cable splicer with MT&T. He was a member of First United Church Trenton where he served as an elder and was a member of the choir and men’s club. He was a member of the Stellarton Male Choir, the Gentleman Songsters, the MT&T Pioneers, and Royal Canadian Legion Br. 34 New Glasgow. He was a former member of L.O.L. No. 1584 Trenton. He served with the Merchant Navy during the Second World War. He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Betts; daughters; Nancy Louise (Jim) Fraser, Little Harbour; Rose Marie (John) Webber, Shubenacadie; Marion Susan Chislett, Trenton; son, Phillip W. (Sheri) Chislett, Charlottetown; grandchildren: Neil Edward Fraser; John Wesley (Angela) Fraser; Amy Louise Fraser; Trevor Ernest Chislett; David Wesley Steves Chislett; Samuel Phillip Webber; sister, Lillian (Orie) Reid, Thorburn; brother, Reginald (Margaret) Chislett, Ontario. He was predeceased by sisters, Marguerite, Ruth, Lavrene and Muriel; brothers: Jack, Earl, Lloyd, Bert and Doug. Visitation 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home Trenton. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34 will hold its service at 6:30 p.m. today. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Church Trenton with Rev. Debra Orton officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society, First United Church or a charity of choice.
