Karen Elizabeth Kinley
FRENCH RIVER – Karen Elizabeth Kinley, 66, of French River, Pictou County, passed away suddenly at home. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Jessie (Long) Kinley. Karen had been a longtime resident of French River. She attended Acadia University and later completed the Canadian Coast Guard Seamanship Training. She appreciated a wide variety of music including Celtic, Popular and Classical. Karen read widely and enjoyed discussing a variety of topics ranging from politics, economics, religion to health care. She was close to her family and was always interested in their travel and activities. She is survived by sisters, Judy McCulloch, Halifax; Marion (Robert) Dawe, St. John’s, NF; niece, Paula Dawe, St. John’s, NF; nephews: Andrew (Maria Del Rio) Dawe, Panama; Stephen (Sheila) Erica and William McCulloch, Carleton Place, Ontario. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Richard and Harold. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. Monday until the time of memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock officiating. Burial will be in Port Hilford Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
