"BUN" ARTHUR CHARLES TOWNSEND
TOWNSEND, "BUN" ARTHUR CHARLES "Bun" Arthur Charles Townsend of Waasis, NB, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 14, 2004 at the age of 74. Born in Dartmouth, NS, he was the son of the late Arthur Charles and Margaret Townsend. Bun will be greatly missed by his step-daughter Evelyn Paquin (Lloyd Fitzgerald), step-granddaughter Lisa Saulis (Shawn) and his niece Cynthia Townsend, and their families. He was predeceased by his brother Bernard. In his younger days, Bun spent 12 years as a merchant marine, traveling all over the world. He became a stationary engineer supervisor and worked for the Province of New Brunswick for a few years before coming to CFB Gagtown (Central Heating Plant), where he worked for 17 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Union of National Defence Employees. Bun loved the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking in the woods to feed the birds, squirrels and rabbits. His morning coffee buddies will miss his company. Visitation will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, NB, Monday, May 17, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at Bishop's Funeral Home. Honourary pallbearers will be Gene King, Bill Delucry, Art Hughes, Pat Hogan, Ivan Hector and Vaughn Knorr. Memorial donations can be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, the S.P.C.A. or to a charity of the donor's choice.
