ALMA – Kathleen “Kay” Anastasia Murphy, age 80, of Alma, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Eva (Hirshfield) Lucas. Kay lived her life to the fullest. She had a great love for music, however, her greatest love was her husband, her children, and their families. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 61 years, Charles; children: Bonnie, Calgary; Charles “Chuck” (Margaret), Ottawa; Heather, Calgary; Bruce (Paulette), Cochrane, Alta; Kim Hadley (Jim), Dieppe, N.B.; Eva Murray (Ralph), Westville; Karen “Mike” Gay (Randy), Ottawa; Maureen MacDonald (Nelson), Loch Broom; Tony (Cheryl), Calgary; Staci (David Rorison), Green Hill; 27 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Kimball Lucas (Jean), New Glasgow; and sister, Rita D’Amour, North Bay, Ont.; and sister-in-law, Mildred White, Hopewell She was predeceased by sisters, Helen MacDonald and Yvonne Walsh. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later time. Donations in her memory may be made to the S.P.
