NEW GLASGOW – Kathleen Cavell Swan, of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Abercrombie Road, passed away Monday, November 19th, 2007. Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (MacKenzie) MacLeod. She was a resident of New Glasgow for all her married life prior to which she was a resident of Westville. She was a school teacher having taught in numerous Pictou County schools and for the last 10 years of her career she was a special education teacher at the West Side School from where she retired as a life member of the Retired Teachers Association. Kathleen was a committed community volunteer, member of the S.P.C.A., an adherent of the First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, and a devoted mother to her family. She is survived by daughter, Donna (Grant) Llewellyn, Halifax; son, Robert (Donna Marie Langille), Melmerby Beach, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister, Jean MacLeod, Glen Haven Manor, formerly of Westville. She was predeceased by her husband, George; brothers: Allan, John and Donald; sister, Christine Pepperall, Niagara Falls. Cremation has taken place. A graveside committal service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
