HILLSIDE - Leata Anna Fraser (Grover), age 88, of Hillside, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born April 9, 1919, in Whitehead, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late James and Frances (Jamieson) Grover. She was a member of the Hillside and Area Seniors Club and a lifetime member of LTBA Westville. She enjoyed playing cards and darts, travelling and spending time with her children and family. She is survived by sons: Lewis, Barry, Albert, Donald, all of Hillside; Joseph (Velvet), Trenton; Ian, Little Harbour; daughters, Geneva, Trenton; Evelyne, Little Harbour; foster daughter, Anne MacLean, Kings Head; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; special family friend, Vivian Penney; special coffee pal, John Carmichael; sister, Helen Boyles, New Glasgow; brother-in-law, David (Betty) Fraser, Hillside; sister-in-law, Marion Barton, Moncton; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alva T. Fraser; son, Aubrey Edwin; daughter, Brenda Fraser; daughter-in-law, Pat; brothers, Harold, Borden and Jim Grover; sisters, Margaret Feltmate and Cynthia Grover. Visitation Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 3 p.m. Friday in Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton, with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the SPCA or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
