PHILIP OSBORNE DOAK

DOAK, PHILIP OSBORNE At the Veterans Health Unit, 700 Priestman St, Philip O Doak age 81 of Fredericton passed away on June 29, 2004. Born in Boiestown NB, he was a son of the late Charles and Lillian (Neagle) Doak and husband of the late Mariane (Bernier) Doak. He was Anglican and a member of Christ Church Parish Church, Westmorland St, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4. Philip joined the North Shore Regiment and served in World War II in Europe being wounded in Holland, after which he served in the Korean Conflict. In the service corps he was with Transport and a mechanic by trade, but was extremely well known in the Canadian Army for entering skilled driving competitions and rodeos of which he won many championships. Surviving are his daughters - Remona George (John) of Fredericton, Luane Dorion (Paul) of Wasaga Beach, Ontario and Lorraine Price of of Stoney Creek, Ontario, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother Everett Doak (Doris) of Fredericton, one sister Berdina Hovey of Fredericton, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers Jim and Nelson, and two sisters Ellen and Daisey. Although there will be no visitation, a funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:30 PM from St. Anne's Chapel of Ease Westmorland St, with Archdeacon John Sharpe officiating.
