IRENE ALICE VENO

VENO, IRENE ALICE Mrs. Irene Alice Veno, widow of Irvine Veno, of 341 Weaver Siding Road, Weaver Siding, NB, passed away Monday, June 7th, 2004. at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, at the age of 86. Born in Weaver Siding, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Cashen) Colford. She was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, Doaktown. She was a life member of the Ladies' Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 23, Doaktown. She was an avid bingo player and loved to listen to country music. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by 19 nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by one daughter, Mary Ellen; three sisters: Helen, Mary Jane, and Elizabeth and three brothers: Patrick, Gordon, and Lawrence. Mrs. Irene Alice Veno rested at Davidson's Funeral Home, 579 Main Street, Doaktown, with visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ladies' Auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 23, Doaktown, held a service of remembrance conducted by Lillian Porter at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday June 10, at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church, Doaktown, with Father Mark Trzop officiating, assisted by Father Ralph McRae. Organist was Susan Crawford. Hymns were: Prayers of St. Francis, Come back To Me, Into Your Hands, and Song of the Angels. Soloist, Borden B. Davidson, rendered Amazing Grace. Readings were by Colleen Wilson and Loretta Colford. Pallbearers were: Merle Colford, Danny Stubb, Andrew Colford, Angus Grant, Reg Sutherland, and Martin Colford. Burial followed in Blissfield Roman Catholic Cemetery. At request of the family, donations to Our Lady of Annunciation Roman Catholic Church Building Fund, or a memorial of one's choice would be appreciated. Arrangements were in care of Davidson's Funeral Home (365-7022)
