SMITH, CHARLES JOSEPH The death of Charles Joseph Smith of Minto occurred on June 29th, 2004 at the age of 81. Born in South Branch, NF, he was the son of the late John and Julia (McIssaac) Smith. Charles had moved to Chipman in 1947 he lived and loved his children and senior citizen dances. He was employed at the Department of Transportation since 1961 and retired in 1987. He is survived by ten children, Joseph and Darlene (Gormley) of Cumberland Bay, Stanley of Moncton, Norval and Heather (Fairweather) of Salmon Creek, Darrell of Minto, Allen and Nina (Green) of Saint John, Darlene and Dave Bentley of Saint John, Kim and Faye (Fairweather) of Saint John, Mary (Millican) of Saint John, Cameron and Tracey (McLean) of Chipman, Adriann and Sherman Brewer of Hainesville; his wife Evelyn Dykeman; four brothers, Andrew, John and Gorden of NF, Reg of Toronto; a sister, Elizabeth (Felix) Morris of NF; 24 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by two brothers George and Arch. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home 327-3490 where the family will receive visitors on Thursday from 2-4 and 79pm and from where funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 2nd, 2004 in the Parker Memorial Chapel with Father Peter Stephen officiating. Interment will take place in the United Pentecostal Cemetery, Chipman, NB. Pallbearers will be his beloved children.
