MARION JEAN (BREWER) SMITH

SMITH, MARION JEAN (BREWER) The death of Marion Jean Smith of Fredericton occurred at the Veterans Health Unit Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a period of declining health. Born in Devon, N.B. in 1916 she was the daughter of the late Chester and the late Hazel Brewer. Marion was a homemaker and a retired Registered Nurse. She served overseas as a Nursing Sister with The Canadian Army Medical Corps during World War II in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, and South Africa and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. She was affiliated with St. Pauls United Church. When she was active she enjoyed knitting, card games, cooking and her home. She was predeceased by her husband Leo G Smith in 1962, and her only sister Alice Eileen Tims (Howard). Survived by her only son Donald (Don) of Fredericton. There will be no visitation or service by her request. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the Veterans Van fund, The Alzheimer's Society or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
