LEWIS JAMES JARDINE

JARDINE, LEWIS JAMES (March 25, 1916 - July 9, 2004) Lew died peacefully at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital surrounded by his loving family on July 9, 2004 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia A. Jardine (Hogan), brother Edison, and sister Marie. He is survived by Ron (Pat), Frank (Mary), Michael (Lucy), Jean (Dave MacIntyre), Jack (Melanie), and Paul (Gail); grandchildren Jennifer (Mark) and Jamie (Jen) Jardine, Stephanie and John (Lisa) Jardine, Sarah Jardine, Laura and Michael Briggs, Victoria, Rebecca, Madeline and Grant West, David and Colby Jardine; great grandchildren Jessie, Maddie and Dylan. Lew retired as President and partner of Rosser Sales and Equipment in 1980. He was a respected businessman who was instrumental in opening several Atlantic Rental outlets. Lew was an active member of North West Commercial Traveller's Association for over fifty years. He received many awards for salesmanship and professionalism throughout his career. One that he was particularly proud of was, top commendation from the president of J.I. Case Company. Lew was born in Blackville and maintained his love for his friends and relatives "over north". He was knowledgeable about business and loved to give advice to his family. He stayed young by keeping himself busy with carpentry projects. He maintained his interest in learning new things; at the age of 83 he began to take saxophone lessons. Friends may visit at Bishop's Funeral Home on Woodstock Road on Monday July 12 from 2-4 and 7-9. A celebration of Lew's life will be held at St. Dunstan's Church on Tuesday, July 13 at 12:00 noon with Msgr. Brian Sheehan officiating. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
